Ok everyone, I know that we'd rather focus on rum punch and turquoise blue water, but I recently came across a project which could help all of us enjoy our vacations a little more safely and I think we should do as much as possible to support it!
Since 2008, Cher Will has been working to increase the availability of AED machines across St.Croix and other Virgin Islands. If you are unfamiliar with AEDs and their function, check out more at stcroixaed.home.comcast.net . In short, they are life saving devices that can provide a crucial JUMP to a heart in trouble and will often mean the difference between life and death. Cher has devoted much of her time and money to promoting this project for the safety of others and I think it'd be great if we help her spread the word in hopes of more funding assistance and attention. If you can't contribute money.....share a link!
Also, to when planning your vacation, you may want to down load an app to help you keep in mind where these devices should you or your family find yourself in need. It could save your life. www.crowdsav.com
Also, Cher pointed out that if you are in an emergency situation, if you call 9-1-1 from a cell phone, use 340-772-9111 which is the number for St. Croix. If you don't, you won't get the help you need!
Please visit Cher's site and help spread the word so we can all have more fun and be safe at the same time!

Determining what to do on vacation can be a hassle. Not only do you have to come to a consensus opinion amongst the members of your group, but then you have to decide where to do the activity and which company to book it through. This all requires research and research can feel a lot like work....and we're supposed to be on vacation!
To eliminate some of that work, consider using a company that allows you to book all your activities through one vendor. This saves you obey and simplifies your vacation.....which is what we want!
Here are 3 activities that are SURE THINGS:
1. Snorkeling - Anyone, from the most adventurous to the most timid, can enjoy snorkeling. Even people who can't swim can snorkel! All you need is a life vest to make you float on the surface like a bird floating above the landscape. The beauty of the ocean will also provide as a distraction to those who are still nervous :)
2. Sailing - As long as the sea is calm, sailing is tremendously relaxing and a perfect activity for a group. The scenery is amazing, a slight breeze will cool you off, and there are always opportunities for fishing or other water activities if you choose.
3. Kayaking/Bio bay - Although some people have never kayaked before, becoming an expert for the day is not all that difficult and even if you fall out of the kayak, the water is usually shallow and at least you'll have a great story! The bioluminessence is also a very unique phenomenon which will bring you out of your comfort zone because it's worth it!
When you come to the USVI, book your trip with somebody who knows the market so you can enjoy your trip rather than stress about it!

We're always on the hunt for great resources that take us off the beaten path for better adventures and more authentic experiences. Recently, I came across the site below...and I love it. All of the posts aren't about St Croix, but if you're planning a vacation in the Caribbean you should definitely check this site out. I love the bright colors, the original stories, and the uniqueness of it all. Check it out!
Have you every been snorkeling? It seriously is one of my favorite things to do in the world. The experience combines so many feelings into one adventure. There is nothing like it.
First of all, the ocean is a completely different world. Once you put your face into the water, all your other cares and thoughts go floating away. Pun intended! There are so many sights to take in all at once and all of those visions are very different from anything you’re used to seeing above the water. Fish, coral, sting rays, maybe manatees…really…there could be almost anything. And, the best part is, it’s different every time.
If you’re like me, you like to get a little exercise while you’re on vacation. Eating all this Caribbean food can put on a few pounds if you know what I mean! Red beans and rice go straight to my hips! What better way to burn off some of those calories than by swimming around sight seeing?! Honestly, time passes by so quickly when you’re snorkeling. Next thing you know 4 hours have passed….and hopefully by then you’ve moved around enough to earn your next meal!
Buck Island in St Croix USVI is one of THE best snorkeling destinations in the entire world. Yes. I said it. And it’s true. The area was categorized as a National Monument in 1961 and has been protected ever since. There are close 5,000 acres of protected reef to cruise around on your St Croix snorkeling trip. Eagle rays, various species of turtles, parrot fish, blue tangs, and thousands of other kinds of fish! There is even an underwater trail for you to follow as you explore!
If you get tired of snorkeling, there are beautiful beaches full of white sand for you to relax on. I mean, it just doesn’t get better than this! Watch this video for some more information: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HhxoGVx6wGI#t=540

St. Croix Vacation Condo
Ok, so you’re ready to go to St Croix USVI for your vacation. Now what?! In my opinion, the best place to start is finding your home base. You need to pick your home for the next few days, week, or even a month. Some people will go the hotel route, but I like to get the more personal feel of a vacation rental. You tend to get more of the local feel of the place you’re staying, the locations are often better for the price, and….if you book through us….you get a discount on your vacation package!
Now that we’ve decided on the type of rental, we need to figure out the where! Christiansted and the East End are the best options. They are near many of the activities in St Croix, there are plenty of restaurants nearby, and there are many vacation rentals nearby.
